How to sell on Namshi: the Look, Size, Return check for fashion and beauty brands

By Prudhvi Polavarapu, supply chain and e-commerce operations leader in Dubai

If you are searching for how to sell on Namshi, begin with the honest question: would a stylist be proud to put my brand next to the ones already on the page? Namshi is a curated fashion and beauty destination, so brand presentation counts for more than a long product list.

I know this platform from the operations side. At Namshi I handled around 500K same-day shipments a year, with peak days above 5,000 orders, and I saw what happened to products that looked great on screen and then arrived badly packed or in the wrong size. Namshi is now part of the noon group, which I mention only so you know where to look for current seller information. From that experience I use a three-part check I call Look, Size, Return.

How do I start selling on Namshi?

There is no single fixed route I can verify from an official public page, so I will not invent steps. Since Namshi sits within noon, a sensible first move is the noon partner help centre at helpcenter.noon.partners, and then a direct enquiry to the Namshi brand team through the contact details published on their site. Expect a review of your brand before anything goes live. That is normal for a curated platform. Whatever process you are given, ask for the current document list, fees and fulfilment options in writing, because these change.

Before you enquire, get your basics aligned with the UAE rules for businesses. Your trade licence, tax registration and bank details should match exactly. The official portal u.ae is the place to confirm what applies to your business type. I walk through the same discipline for a general marketplace in the Prove, Price, Promise check for noon.

Step one: Look

Look is everything a shopper sees before she touches the product. On a fashion platform she decides in a second. Clean photography on a consistent background, honest colours, a few lifestyle images and a clear brand story do more than any discount. If you are a beauty brand, add clear shots of the packaging, shade names and ingredients, because shoppers read them.

One small brand I advised had a beautiful product and photos taken on a phone under a kitchen light. The product did not change. The photographs did, and the conversation with the buyers changed with them. Treat your image set as a sales document, because on a curated platform it is exactly that.

On a curated platform, your photographs are your first sales meeting.

Step two: Size

Size is your data. Fashion returns are driven mostly by fit and by the gap between the screen and the parcel, so the best protection is accurate information. Give true measurements, a size chart that matches the garment and not only the label, and the same naming for colours everywhere. Add material, care instructions, country of origin and, for beauty, volume and variant details. Every SKU needs a clean barcode and a stable code, and your stock count needs to be right. At my warehouses, 99.6% inventory accuracy came from weekly counts, and I describe the method in inventory accuracy and cycle counts. A platform cannot sell what you do not have.

What if the shopper wants to send it back?

This is Return, the third step, and fashion sellers should plan for it before they list. Customers order two sizes and return one. That is normal, not a failure, and the aim is to reduce it and recover the stock quickly. Ask the platform how returns are handled, who inspects the item, how fast resellable stock comes back to the sellable count and how the credit is settled. Then work out your margin after the average return rate you expect, not before. Pack garments in clean sealed bags, keep tags attached and label cartons clearly so inspection is quick. I cover the full method in how to reduce e-commerce returns in the UAE.

Should I store my own stock or let the platform fulfil it?

Platforms like this usually offer more than one fulfilment model, and the right choice depends on your size. If you hold stock yourself, you control cost but you carry the delivery promise, the packing standard and the courier relationship. If the platform stores and ships for you, you hand over some control in return for speed and consistency. Ask for the current options and costs, then compare them on your five best sellers, including packaging, storage and returns. I ran three warehouses and about 300 drivers, and the lesson was simple: choose the model you can execute well on your worst day, not your best one.

Look, Size, Return on one page

Look: do my images and brand story belong beside the best brands in my category? Size: are my measurements, attributes, barcodes and stock counts exact? Return: do I know how returns work and does my margin survive them? If the answer to any is no, fix that first and apply when you are ready.

The UAE is a superb market for fashion and beauty. Shoppers here are young, well travelled and used to buying online, and the delivery network is among the best in the region. Prepare carefully and a curated platform can introduce your brand to a very good audience.

DO THIS TODAY

A curated shelf has little room, so arrive prepared and you will already stand out.
